Project 6 proposals

First proposal

       Making cake. I will show the process of making a cake and the end result of the cake being decorated and ready to eat. I feel there’s a lot of things I could do with this.  Some ideas for this would be showing all of my ingredients then shot of freeze motion with the eggs dropping into the batter or anything freeze motion of the batter spraying off the mixer.  Placing the mixture into a pan and into the oven I will shoot from different POVs.

Second proposal


    A morning routine. With this I will experiment with light and shadow and POV.  First a morning stretch in bed. Followed by a shower and brushing teeth, this is where I will get creative with POV. And then a change of clothes. To follow that a morning work out outside, this is where I will experiment with light and shadow. Possibly just A picture of the shadow running, or include the shadow with the runner. Then breakfast, spreading some butter on toast and pouring some water I will incorporate freeze motion.

I picked this photograph because I enjoyed the story behind it, or what I thought the story might be. I interpreted it to be a working woman and her assistant giving her the tools todo this ladies hair. This ladies make shift salon, possibly outside her house. From the additional information provided this photo of the previously thought woman is actually a gay man dose the change my thoughts too much but definitely adds to this story, it makes the photo more diverse. This photograph really lets you analyze and interpret what you the viewer wants to see, without reading or looking into context, specially first glance which is why I initially choose this photo.

This photo has a lot going on, this photo even in black and white you can gather lots of tons and shades, the contrast allows you to see different ethnicities in this as well. Even the texture of the walls, the cracks and which maybe filled in shows the contrast between the concrete. The background and environment suggest this is a lower class society, the window is gated possibly to prevent break ins (theft). The ladies clothes also suggest this is warmer weather probably summer time, which is maybe why they are doing hair outside. The woman sitting in the chair deflecting the “stylist” hand possibly suggests she doesn’t want her to touch it or maybe that it hurts by also looking at her facial expression. The point of view is more towards ground level because there eyesight is looking down on the photographer. The focal point of this photograph would be in the center, my eye goes more so in a circular motion rather than left to right or up to down. This is probably due to the placement of the people, they almost go in a wave shape which caused my eye to circle. This image as much meaning and detail which makes this photo so eye catching and more insightful than just a woman getting her hair done.
